ENTRY DETAILS

The exhibition will take place at the prestigious Whistler Gallery located in the Jerwood Dance House (home of DanceEast) on the Waterfront in Ipswich, from 20th- 28th May 2021. Oyster Community Press CIC will curate and promote the exhibition, produce a catalogue, and manage a socially distanced Private View event for artists and their guests, on Wednesday 19th May.

To exhibit, you must be a printmaker that either lives or works within a 20-mile radius of Ipswich.

All entries must be:

  • Original prints (i.e., hand-pulled) and must be framed using non reflective glass.

  • Fitted with D-rings

  • Entitled on the reverse and the price clearly indicated. This information must be duplicated on a label attached with string to the front of the work.

 

Owing to limited capacity of the venue, the maximum framed size will be 61cms x 46cms (24” x 18”)

We are looking for original and interesting work. There will be a selection panel comprising our Creative Director and 3 local printmakers to finalise exhibition entries and their decision will be final.

There is an entry fee of £10 per submission, with a maximum of 2 pieces of work per artist, for consideration by the panel.

If a piece of work is not selected, your entry fee for it will be refunded by bank transfer before the exhibition is launched.

Entries must be submitted for selection in digital form (J-peg) and emailed to oysterpress.cic@gmail.com, for the attention of Al Smyth no later than Friday 30th April, accompanied by a completed entry form as an attachment and details of your payment by Bank transfer.

If selected, your work should be brought to our studio at Tower House, 17 Tower Street, Ipswich, IP1 3BE: - on Thursday 13th or Friday 14th May.

Commission and sales information

As there is no commission on sales, we will notify you if your work is sold and pass the buyers details to you so that you can arrange payment directly with them. Buyers may collect their work from us at our studio in Tower Street by arrangement, once we have been notified by you that the buyer has paid you. Alternatively, you may collect the work and arrange for it to be delivered to the buyer yourself.

Unsold work

Any pieces that have not been sold can be collected from our studio at Tower House on 1st June.
