ROAD TO RECOVERY, 2023

We have been commissioned by the NHS through the East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation trust, (ESNEFT) to deliver two of our six week Road to Recovery Courses for Long Covid sufferers. The first course began on June 1st and the second will begin after the summer holidays in September. Road to Recovery is seen by the Long Covid Clinical Team, as a valuable way of helping sufferers to cope with their symptoms and to rebuild the confidence that many have lost due to this condition.

TUDWICK FOUNDATION FUND US TO DELIVER OUR LAST ROAD TO RECOVERY OF THE YEAR

Thanks to the Tudwick Foundation we are delighted to be running another of our unique  Road to Recovery courses for people attending the Long Covid clinics in either Ipswich or Colchester, starting on Wednesday 6th December 2023. The course will run for six weeks with a break over the Christmas period, and finishes at the end of January 2024. Referrals to the course are only   through  your Long Covid clinician so ask them for information and a registration form.

"I really enjoyed the process of learning something new and our weekly printing sessions have boosted my mental wellbeing massively. Each week I took on something really, ambitious and feel so proud of my work. It has been a real safe space for me, and I have loved my time here. It gave me a sense of belonging again.”

FREE PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP AT THE DUKE

On Saturday 6th June, Tower Street Print Project ran a free printmaking workshop for customers of the Duke of Marlborough Pub in Somersham, as a way of supporting another community business.

We set up a pop-up printshop in their restaurant and taught eight locals how to design and print a two colour linocut.

They thoroughly enjoyed  the creative experience and were interested to find out about community businesses and how the can support each other.

The event will take place in the Hold and the wall-hanging will remain on display for the general public until the Autumn, when it will then be archived in the Suffolk records office as an historical record of the views and opinions of young people here in Ipswich of the year 2022.
